Death of Nguyen Phu Trong, general secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam: condolences from the Reunionese Communist Party
25 July, by
The funeral of General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (PCV), Nguyen Phu Trong, begins today, July 25. The Réunion Communist Party presents its sincere condolences to the PCV, the Vietnamese people and the Vietnamese community in Réunion.
At the head of the Party and the State since 2011, Nguyen Phu Trong has successfully contributed to the development of his country. It was under his presidency that ASEAN completed the creation of the RCEP, the largest free trade area in the world. In addition to the 10 ASEAN countries, it also includes China, Japan, South Korea, New Zealand and Australia. It came into effect on January 1, 2021. The country is credited with 7% growth. Which underlines a certain resilience in the path chosen after the intervention of the great Western powers.
Indeed, the disappearance of Nguyen Phu Trong comes 70 years after the crushing French defeat at Dien Bien Phu, in 1954. The United States, which took over, suffered the same fate. They were defeated on April 30, 1975, after 19 years of bombings and atrocities.
In the register of condolences, we will remember this extract written by To-Lam, his replacement.
“I deeply miss Comrade General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong — beloved son of the Vietnamese nation, an exceptionally remarkable leader, an steadfast member of the Communist Party, a shining example of the constant study and pursuit of the ideology, ethics and style of Ho Chi Minh, a person with a great reputation within our Party, our State and our people, a great friend of the people of the world who had devoted his entire life to country, the Party and the people, had made many great contributions to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation, the international communist movement and the maintenance of peace, stability and development in the region and the world ".
Reunion would benefit from establishing lasting relations with this French-speaking country, one and a half times more populated than France, and whose development issues are instructive.
For the Reunionese Communist Party,
